Your backyard just became a Discovery Channel!

There's a moment when a child crouches down in the grass, completely still, watching something tiny move… and the whole world goes quiet. This kit gives them the tools to follow that instinct wherever it leads: catching, observing, measuring, and releasing, all on their own terms.

Little girl playing with the Montessori Nature Explorer Kit and catching a butterfly in the park.

A real scientist doesn't just look. They investigate.

With a telescopic butterfly net, a ventilated observation house with built-in magnifying lenses, a compass, tweezers, an insect catcher, a wooden ruler, and an observation cup, every trip outside becomes a proper expedition. They're not pretending to explore: they actually are.

*****
We always take it outside

"We took it on a walk the first day and he found three different bugs before we even left the street. He measured them, checked in on them, and made us stay out for two hours. Best gift he's ever got!."

Set of natural educational tools including a magnifying glass, net, and compass on a wooden surface outdoors.

What’s in the explorer kit (how to play)?

You'll receive a complete 8-piece set made from smooth, solid oak and safe plastics: everything a young naturalist needs to get started. The breathable observation house doubles as a carry case, so the whole kit travels easily from the backyard to the trail.

The gift that gets them off the screen and into the grass.

This one gets grabbed on the way out the door. Whether it's a birthday, a holiday, or just a Tuesday afternoon, this is the gift that turns ordinary outdoor time into something that actually feels like an adventure.

My daughter spent a solid hour crouched over the bug observation house watching a beetle crawl around, completely mesmerized. The wooden hand lens is her favorite part, she holds it up to everything now.

Hannah β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…

The telescopic butterfly net extends far enough that my daughter can catch things without trampling the garden beds. The wooden hand lens is a nice touch too, feels sturdier than the plastic ones we've had before.

Richard β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…

My 5-year-old has barely put down the bug observation house since it arrived, and I love that the lid magnifies so she can watch beetles without me worrying about escapes. The wooden hand lens feels sturdy enough to survive her backpack, which is saying something.
